(GEORGE/CONT'D OVER) -6- -5- GEORGE: having an affair and was just about to leave us, that he started shooting all these pictures. I don't know, maybe there's something about photos that...like what is it? He's not in any of the photos. JANET: So now he changed the film again. ...So that's the last slide. GEORGE: I'll go turn off the computer. (SOUND OF GEORGE WALKING AWAY) GEORGE: I guess so. It's a lot of work. Just uh, yeah, go back. ...yeah keep going. Ok that should be good. (PROJECTOR STOPS AND HEAR RE-ORDERING SOUNDS) GEORGE: It's just because I've crossed the country so many times. It just makes sense to me to see it sequentially. I mean they were having to make this trip, this long journey, 2000 miles to get to New York City. ...Ok (PROJECTOR STARTS AGAIN)So this is close to Calgary where they would have started in the foothills. JANET: Oh yeah, this is around where we used to live. GEORGE: The prairies just seem to go on forever when you're driving across it. JANET: Oh yeah, this is Bemidji, because I looked it up on the Internet because it says on the sign. GEORGE: What sign? GEORGE: This is the same seaway...There's New York. It's funny because I remember when my Dad, my Dad when we were, when I was about 9 started taking all kinds of pictures of us... and I think it was just when he was JANET: There's a sign here. Right there by the blue ox and Paul Bunyan. And it's still there, now there's trees behind. GEORGE: Huh, that's funny. So you know, this trip, they were uh...he was sick, he had Hodgkin's disease, which then wasn't very curable. Now it's one of the more curable cancers now. And, uh, he was uh, but they had been told that there was a doctor in New York that was a specialist and......So this is on the South shore of Lake Superior in the States. So they were told that there is a doctor in New York that could maybe cure him and so I guess they drove from Calgary all the way to New York to see this doctor. ...Now that's Niagara Falls, southern Ontario...That's my Dad and my Mom....woah. JANET: Now he's changed film.
