Lost in the Memory Palace | Road Trip
"ROAD TRIP"written byJanet Cardiff and George Bures Miller (SOUND OF ARTISTS COMING INTO THE ROOM) (GEORGE/CONT'D OVER) -2- -1- GEORGE: There's a lot of noise downstairs. JANET: I don't know if we'll hear it. GEORGE: Oh yeah we're gonna hear it. JANET: Ok. So this is the first one. GEORGE: I wonder what mountain that is. JANET: I think it is... GEORGE: ...wintertime... JANET: ...looks almost like Castle Mountain. GEORGE: Now that...no idea. JANET: He had a good sense of composition. That one's an amazing shot. GEORGE: That looks like he's hiked up somewhere. Like that can't be from the road....That one's from the road. I think that's... JANET: Woops... GEORGE: So...I think we should, we should stop. I don't think you should be doing that. JANET: Doing what? GEORGE: Going back and forth. JANET: I didn't mean to press the rewind button. GEORGE: I thought the slides were going to be controlled in a way that we don't have any control over them really. Like I thought they are going to be the beat of the piece and it has to be fairly consistent. GEORGE: Beboum...beboum...But I guess we can also... JANET: We're not gonna talk about every one anyways....The water shots are great. GEORGE: That's like he's out in the water. JANET: Yes it's like he's in a canoe. Look it, there's a canoe in the shot too. GEORGE: This must be all around Banff. I was told that he loved Banff. JANET: ...and then this blue film. The blue film has really really stayed really clear. GEORGE: Were the mounts different? JANET: I don't know, we should check that....But they almost look like they were bought, these shots, the blue ones. Because they look so classically composed. GEORGE: Huh...Well that's Rundle. JANET: Yes, that's Mount Rundle. GEORGE: But I don't know from which angle though. It's an angle that I'm not totally familiar with. GEORGE: That's Cascade. JANET: Sorry, he lived in Calgary? JANET: (REVERSING THE SLIDE) Yeah it's almost a bit...it is the same view, I wonder if it's taken the same day. JANET: Yeah like The 39 Steps or something. GEORGE: Calgary, yeah...So it's about back in those days, I don't know, two, three hour drive to Banff. Is that the same view as the last slide, only a little closer up? GEORGE: It's funny, the guy, the guy in there. It is almost like an image from a Hitchcock film.
