First and foremost we are indebted to Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller for their willingness to take on this exhibition and publication. We have had long and fruitful exchanges with them for many years, and greatly value their creativity, generosity and friendship. We are grateful for their willingness to take on this project, which brings together outstanding older and newer works, and documents them in a new and challenging medium.
